The craftsmen at Right Path Windows & Restoration use modern technology to create traditional wood window sashes. Our custom wooden sashes are constructed of non-finger jointed hardwood with traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Any wood species you like may be used, from oak to Red Grandis, including the high-tech, long-lasting Accoya wood.
A wide selection of milling profiles is available to match historical details from any architectural period. Options include a popular beveled profile that replicates the look the traditional putty line without the actual putty. For the purists, the application glazing putty is available for a historically accurate window.
Numerous types of glass are available. Single pane glass can be used to replicate the original look of the window, as can double-pane insulated restorer glass which lends a wavy appearance while giving the windows greater thermal efficiency. Where even more energy efficiency is needed, triple-pane insulated glazing units can be used while maintaining the original look of the window.
Then there's the choice of a true divided light versus simulated muntin bars. Although the true divided light may be a bit more expensive, it's the only choice for purists. The simulated lights offer a similar, more cost-effective look.
To further the energy efficiency of our windows, our sashes are machined such that we can include at least two inconspicuous pieces of weather stripping. Brush pile is incorporated into the sash as well as the sash stop. This double weather seal ensures against drafts.
The sashes can match any existing conditions. When paint is desired, we apply an oil-based primer followed by two coats of a high-quality water-based exterior paint. Wood stains in any shade are also available, as is a clear, polyurethane-type finish.
Hardware choices are nearly limitless. Right Path offers a wide selection of historically accurate hardware. In addition to traditional pulleys in hard-to-find sizes, we also offer the corresponding sash chains along with an array of lifts, locks, handles, and sash window security hardware.
